Mr ?

Mr X,T, Ed or ? in fact this is all about Rob Wallis. Rob, who shall remain immortalised in the above photo until he or my sister send through a more appropriate image, has been complaining that I don't talk to him, message him or email him like I do members of my family. I think he has been feeling neglected. I am attempting to make him feel better. He may regret ever feeling this way. But then I guess my sister will tell him to "build a bridge and get over it." This is her saying for the month.

Who is Rob Wallis? Rob Wallis is my sister Sarah's boyfriend. He bears an uncanny resemblance to cousin Itt. I don't think his
family is really like Cousin Itt's, nor do I think they will approve of any such analogy conjured up. I guess they will have to build a bridge and get over it.

When referring to Rob and his relationship with my sister I am required to be ethically and politically correct. Sarah and Rob started dating 3 days before my sister Sarah headed off to work in Bangkok. (I don't think I have any other sisters but best to play it safe here you never know what is around the next corner). Most people wouldn't pursue this type of relationship...That is probably why my sister did. Apparently, my Mum saw the potential for this union years ago....It was only a matter of time. My brother knows more about the history of this 'friendship' that turned into 'dating' which turned into 'let's live together' which manifested into 'let's buy property.'

I have heard rumors to the effect that Rob has paid my sister for services, specifically she has be described on a bank statement somewhere and some how as a mail order bride. (Someone shall have fun when auditing these two!) Rob seems to be a nice enough guy. Well I'll consider him a nice guy until he upsets my sister. I don't know too much about him. He lived in China for a year. He speaks Chinese. He must be good as when he goes to eat Chinese cuisine he asks for the Chinese menu. He is very good friends with his Chinese teacher, who is lending Rob and Sarah his car when he returns to China. Rob, like my sister, enjoys traveling. I think this is good. Rob works in finance.
PS.Rob was very excited to discover that girls shirts have buttons on the otherside to boys shirts, and that they have seams down the front. This was very recently.

Happy Birthday

Today Macro Wholefoods Market in Bridge Road Richmond celebrates its first birthday. I walked past this place a number of times when the interiors were being done. It was not until the first day of Spring (this year) that I ventured in and had a look. I did like this place, especially what it stands for. What a great initiative. I bought a few things and will be putting this place in my list of ‘must do again.’ I think I might do a free tour. So on this very important day I would like to say Happy Birthday Macro.

To celebrate their first birthday Macro are selling organic bananas for $9.95/kg! An absolute bargain!

A number of other important people share a birthday with this place, including Timmy O and Jack Tracey. Happy Birthday guys.

Tomorrow is Trish’s birthday …. HAPPY BIRTHDAY...I think I will be showing her around Melbourne Town to celebrate!

Happy Father's Day

Yesterday (the 3rd of September) marked the day my Dad had officially been a Dad for twenty-seven years (less one day.) He's done a pretty fantastic job. I'm lucky my Dad is who he is. I have never got around to nominating him for Father of the Year - if he didn't win he would definitely come close. He was going to ride on the Healesville Train to celebrate, as they let Fathers ride for free. He didn't make it. He was having lunch with his family.

His football team won on Saturday against Richmond this was a pretty good present, results are published in detail here. What is probably a better present for someone like him is that none of the top 4 teams on the AFL ladder are Victorian ones!

Happy Father's Day! Thanks for the memories....

Bubbles

At the Basement Apartment this weekend lunch and numerous bottles of champagne were consumed. The purpose of these festivities? A very over due catch up with some of my Melbourne friends, and my friends in Melbourne.

The weather came through with the goods and it was a balmy spring day (which may be a problem given the limited winter rainfall but let's stick with the positives, rather than dwelling on the negatives.) Thanks to all those who dropped in and to the others who did via mobile phone messages. Also sincerest apologies to those who never got that email, what can I say there is just so much effort involved with saving email addresses....

The stayers award goes to Suz who was the first to arrive then the last to leave.Congratulationss to Milly Terrecall who managed to attend and also get paid. Great to see Jaz Bahen whose company, Batch. Executive , is going well. Cait (still recovering from jet lag from her Europe-Australia flight) and Amy, Trish and Ilana (all the way from Canada, via the Gold Coast, the Whitsundays and Frazer Island) how fantastic you were all in town and how lucky I am to have such good friends from all over the world.

Anna, Erin and Sarah great to chat and I hope you are feeling better soon. Also, Uncle Pete I think you are going to have a very organised wedding. Steph, perhaps you should consider dating a mechanic!!! To gorgeous Porge, Rossy, and Mim and my buddies from Brownie days, Jen and Cas, see you soon... probably at Kaos, where I assume chaos will inevitably occur.
