It's a keeper

Marcus Geoffrey Norman arrived on the 14th of September at 8.57 pm, weight 8lb 12 oz.

He is defininetly a keeper: no crying, observant, already inquisitive, contemplative, content and an absolutely beautiful baby. I was very lucky to have a cuddle. I think I handled this well. He didn't cry and had a little sneeze. His parents, still rather perplexed at what they had the ability to create, are understandably very proud. Dave was so proud that he managed to lock the keys in their house while having a therapeutic cigarette outside. This is only what he has admitted. In Dave's shoes I probably would have turned up in my pj's and slippers, forgetting to dress.

Many significant events and people can be linked to this
day. Marcus shares a birthday with people, such as Sam Neil, and Jesse James. He is a Virgo. Being one myself I empathise with his parents. However, his mother and I agree that everything does and must have a place and don't like mess so he might be okay. I have taken this even further to developed a little maxium: 'for everything there is a place, and for every place there is a thing even if that thing is space.' I have tried to teach my family this but I have failed terribly.

On another note, Marcus is Latin in origin (but isn't everything) and means "the warrior" or "great one". It has been suggested that Marcus is derived from the
Etruscan given name Marce, which may be related to the name of the god Mars. The Latin abbreviation of Marcus is M. For more see here.

The media suggests there is currently a baby boom. See
here, here and here.

To little Marcus (the cutest baby around) and his ecstatic parents (Andrea and Dave) equivocally emma says; congratulations, best wishes, may you live a happy, fruitful and great life. Welcome to the world!

It's on the way...

A few months back this photo was taken of Andrea. Her belly got bigger...and bigger. The baby was due on the 9th of September. She was ready for it to come about a week prior. It's late (presuming it hasn't arrived since we called.) Who can blame it for being late: it's cold, windy and has been raining.

My sources have informed me that today Andrea went into the delivery room. The chain of discover went something like this; I established that her mobile phone was off as I called her hoping to catch up (we had posponed a few days before as she had a cold.) Her phone is normally on. I informed my parents of this. My dad suggested calling the Freemason's Hospital, where she was going to be admitted. I thought we should just leave it. When Andrea wants to tell us she will. My parents disagreed. Dad called the hospital. They told him she had been admitted. He didn't want to talk to her, neither did I (despite his insistence that I should.) Nothing personal. I just guessed she would be a bit of pain and probably didn't care to be disturbed. Her partner Dave I imagine would have been rather stressed, and the last thing he would have wanted was a distraction from the task at hand. Mum called the hospital back and got transferred Andrea's ward. They had a chat. Andrea had been induced and was watching television. She had a while to wait. I hope she is going okay. I also hope she took more than one headband in to the hospital in the end.

Dave and Andrea are expecting a boy. I hope that is what comes out. I am looking forward to visiting it. This will be one stylish kid!

Follow up

I received the following email:
"...the new blog looks great. Why the change from the blue colour scheme to the green? A change of season perhaps? Don't mean to complain but what happened to all the website links you had? They have all gone away and I really enjoyed them. Can you resurrect them...."

Aiming to please I have attempted to remember the website that featured on the blue colour scheme. Hope this helps. Any further suggestions shall be considered.

Enjoy the day

Happy Birthday to you!

This is my beautiful friend Meg. Today is her birthday. She turns 27 years old. Isn't she stunning. She spent many years breaking the hearts of many men around Melbourne. I've been around to celebrate numerous birthdays with her, but not this one. She lives in England now, with her fiance Patrick. Patrick is a lovely English gentleman. I've decided for Meg he's a keeper, actually I think she was aware of this long before I even met him.

Meg and I lived around the corner from each other when she started at Ruyton. We caught the tram together from grade 3 onwards. Back then a tram ticket was 35 cents Meg is a fantastic friend. While I couldn't make it to her Hens Night earlier this year (I heard it was an absolute blast) I will be at her wedding with bells on. Happy Birthday Meg - love you lots and miss you heaps!!!

Clarification

  • I have quit the blog lately. I have re-grouped. Ideally, it will no longer be so long between posts.
  • It has been bought to my attention that people actually read all the ridiculous things I write here. These are people that appear not to leave comments. These are probably the people I would like to leave comments. Don't be shy.
  • If you read this post, specifically point 3, it is necessary to click on the hyper-links. Fail to do this and you will find the point more obscure than my normal rantings and ravings. If you don't know how to do this seek help immediately.
